HACKATHONCLT MMXVIII Wants Citizen Hackers to Find Solutions to Charlotte's Economic Mobility Crisis

2018 Data + Digital Hackathon to Focus on Inclusive Healthy Growth CHARLOTTE - Rapidops Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is excited to announce the 6th hackathonCLT, the biggest technology event in Charlotte, North Carolina, and its focus on economic mobility.  On March 23-24, 2018, hundreds of Charlotte's smartest technology minds will attend this annual DATA + DIGITAL hackathon to confront Charlotte's challenges around economic mobility. "Charlotte needs a roadmap for its next 50 years of growth and development," said Abhishek Mehta, CEO of Tresata and the creator of hackathonCLT, "and if this roadmap fails to build an inclusive, healthy and economically viable city for all, we will fail our citizens. This year's hackathonCLT will be the perfect shot in the arm to mobilize greater efforts around this challenge and to help make Charlotte a city where development is always inclusive." In its sixth year, hackathonCLTMMXVIII is expected to bring together over 1,000 developers, designers, innovators and technology lovers from all over America in a unique, team-based competition offering an opportunity to compete in three categories: HACK, CODE, and freeSTYLE.  These smart minds will be competing not just for a chance to win tens of thousands dollars in prize money but also to become citizen evangelists for Charlotte's inclusive, diverse and thriving future. "And when it comes to solving some of our city's most complex issues, I can't wait to see them put their talents to good use for the benefit of all Charlotteans." hackathonCLT MMXVIII kicks off Friday, March 23 at Discovery Place Science in uptown Charlotte at 5pm.  This 24 hour Hackathon ends with final pitches on March 24. Due to the overnight nature of this event, anyone 18 years of age or older is welcome to participate and final presentations and awards will be open to the public in the Discovery Place Theatre.
